Understanding German Verb Forms

Every German verb has three main forms you need to know:

Pro Tip: Most German verbs are regular and follow predictable patterns. Only about 10% are irregular!

The present tense in German is used for:

  • Current actions: "I eat" (Ich esse)
  • Habits: "I play soccer" (Ich spiele Fußball)
  • Future plans: "I fly tomorrow" (Ich fliege morgen)
